Khatera Aslami-Tamplen

Khatera Aslami-Tamplen is an Afghan-American mental health consumer who came to the United States as a refugee with her family when she was 3 years old.  She has been the consumer empowerment manager at Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services since 2012. In 2013, Khatera was appointed by Governor Brown on the California Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission.  She is a founding member of the California Association of Mental Health Peer Run Organizations, on the Board of Directors for Sutter Care at Home, and Board President of the Copeland Center for Wellness and Recovery.  Khatera is an Advanced Level WRAP Facilitator.
