Zumba® = Wellness
See how the Combination or really cool music and simple choreography can help you on your road to wellness. See how this fun combination can be part of your wellness plan and be incorporated into your Daily Maintenance. It's exercise in disguise. You'll not only look better, feel better, lose weight, make friends, relieve stress and build confidence, but you'll want to keep with it. Because it's fun.. & F=LBC Fun = Lasting Behavioral Change. It can be done in a chair, standing or in a pool. It is for any age, or any limitations. It's about movement & fun.

Learning Objectives:
1. Discussion on the benefits of this type of exercise especially for those of us with challenges. This can be through lecture or Power Point.
2. Practical application with a mini class. standing, sitting and even pretend we are in a pool. 3. How you can incorporate this kind of activity alone, in a group, or braving community classes and how fitness and nutrition are essential in everyone's Wellness Recovery action Plans.

Art for Insight
Mixed media artist, Janet Laird, will inspire you to gain deeper insight and understanding of your WRAP. Using simple art supplies, you will create a colorful and meaningful visual of various sections of your WRAP. Facilitators can use these ideas in their groups easily as well. Art supplies will be furnished and feel free to bring along your favorites in addition.

Learning Objectives:
1. Have fun creating an original visual expression of at least 3 sections of their WRAP
2. Identify ideas that could work for them to increase wellness
3. Explore various mixed media that can be used in WRAP Workshops to creatively develop their written WRAP

Chair Yoga for Wellness
Join us for a gentle chair yoga class, which will focus on developing the mind-body connection. All bodies are welcome! We'll utilize gentle stretches and movements for increased circulation, flexibility and strength. Space is limited.

Learning Objectives:
1. Expose participants to new yoga tools (breathing and stretching) for their wellness toolbox.
2. Deepen their understand of yoga, and understand how it might benefit mental health.
3. Make people feel better than they did when they entered the room.

Relaxation and Wellness Room - Provided by Alameda County 10x10 Wellness Campaign
Join us on Tuesday June 6th, 2017 in our Wellness Room. Take a breather, relax, or get that workout in that you are unable to get while away from home. This all day wellness room will have relaxation stations, and scheduled energizers and workouts as well as a food demo facilitated by a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritionist. Look for posted schedule of what is happening throughout the day by dropping by the room. We hope to see you there!

Schedule:
10am:"How to do a proper squat"
11am:"How to lose belly fat"  core strengthening exercises
12pm: Food Demo. Protein fruit smoothie.  
1pm: "Fat burning exercise"
2pm: "Strength Training"
3pm: "The right program for you" 

Art and Relaxation stations open all day!

Photovoice for Wellness
Participants will create a personal advocacy piece reflecting some aspect of how WRAP and wellness have impacted their lives. Photovoice projects consists of a photograph and a short personal narrative statement about its meaning and relevance from the participant's perspective. The part of the session provides information and orientation to the process, and instruction and support for crafting participants' projects. The second part will consist of a 'Story Circle' to provide support participants in crafting their short personal narratives.

*****Participants are strongly encouraged to bring digital photographs supporting the project theme to the first session.
