Self-Compassion is a word that is thrown around a lot. What does it mean, and how does self-compassion support me with building and using my WRAP? We will talk about three things that are involved in developing the practice of self-compassion: - Self-Kindness - Mindfulness - Common Humanity WRAP has a transformative affect on people’s lives, in part because it supports us to build a daily practice of wellness, and it deepens our self-awareness. Any successful change is driven from within; change only comes when we truly want to approach life differently. When we have the desire to integrate a deeper level of wholeness into our lives, we only see it actualized when we develop a daily practice. In this workshop we will explore the daily practice of inviting self-compassion into our lives. Extending the same kindness & compassion to ourselves, that we extend to others. We will talk about exercising fierce, active grace towards ourselves when we struggle or make mistakes. When we do this for ourselves, we are better equipped to offer unconditional high regard as WRAP facilitators. We will talk about the importance of mindfulness and paying attention to how we feel when we face challenge or struggle. When we struggle the most, we can feel so alone in our struggles and pain. However as we know through WRAP, pain and struggle comes with being human. This common humanity is really what peer support is based on.

Learning Objectives:
1. Leave with some clear ideas on how they can create a daily practice of self-compassion. 2. Be able to explain self-compassion, and understand how it supports people in using their WRAP.
3. Understand how paying attention to our inner critic, or our inner expert–affects our self-worth.
