Exploring the WHY Behind My WRAP. What is Lighting Me Up?

Often when we build our WRAPs we are thinking of the WHAT, HOW and WHEN. For example: I’m going to go for a walk in the woods (what), (when) I feel overwhelmed. I will walk for a minimum of 20 minutes (how). For most of us when we first write a WRAP, our main goal is to experience wellness through building on our sense of hope, and utilizing the power of the other key concepts. This workshop will explore our WHY. It’s purpose is to support you to cultivate clarity around what you choose to put in your wellness toolbox, so that you fill it with things that light you up. To expand on the example above, why did I choose a walk anyway…? If I think about it, I chose a walk in the woods, because it makes me feel peaceful and free. What else can I add to my Wellness Toolbox or DMP that makes me feel peaceful and free? Have you explored your WHY–your sense of purpose, your desires, beliefs that inspire you each day? How do you want to feel most days? Most of us don’t explore these questions. When we do, and we find a sense of clarity around how we want to feel, it’s much easier to make daily choices that will support us to feel the way we want to feel. When we have that clarity, it’s also easier to say no to the things that aren’t serving us anymore.

Learning Objectives:
1. Articulate the relevance around understanding their WHY.
2. Pick one defining feeling word, which will support them to build clarity around the purpose of activities in their wellness toolbox.
3. Utilize tools to revise their WRAP action plans to reflect alignment with their WHY.
